My pitbull doesn't turn down food...ever. So she scarfed this brand down like it was her regular ole' chow. That didn't prove much to me besides the flavors are appealing to her. But what was proven to me is the limited natural ingredients. She has a very sensitive stomach therefore anything with too many unnatural ingredients will cause her to have an upset stomach. This food has been great for her stomach and bowel movements. Feels good to free your pet good food!

Kodah loves this food. The food doesn't have much of a bad odor. The only drawback as of yet, he has terrible gas after eating. He is a big black lab, about 105 lbs and has always had gas issues. However, this food makes his gas almost unbearable, chase you out of the room unbearable. Overall he seems pretty happy with his food.

My dog prefers this food over any others we have given her which is great since it is natural ingredients and more healthy for her! Win for her and win for me! She is a 10 month old German Shepherd who also ate the Puppy Chow Naturals too!

1.0 out of 5 stars Food Has Changed Significantly, February 4, 2015
    Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My dog used to LOVE this food before they completely changed it. I've been purchasing this food for quite some time, and have been purchasing Blue Buffalo food for my dog ever since he was a puppy. Just last week I received another bag from Amazon, and my dog stopped eating as soon as I switched to the new bag (both bags Freedom Grain Free). I noticed that the bag was slightly different from the previous bags, with a more plasticky feel compared to what I would previously describe as a paper-like bag. Since my dog is somewhat picky, I decided that perhaps the change in bag material affected the taste enough for him to notice. I trekked to the local pet store, and discovered that they had both new and old-style Blue Buffalo bags in stock for a variety of the foods, with no differentiation. I purchased an old-style bag to see if he would eat it. As soon as I poured out some food, I noticed a difference between the two bags. The new pellets are much larger than the old ones. After putting his bowl down, he immediately gobbled it up as if he hadn't eaten in days (he hadn't).

I then examined the bags. The new-style food suggests that a dog of size 50-70lb should consume 3.5 to 4 cups of food per day, while the old-style food offers a suggestion of 2.5 to 3.25 cups. That means there's 1.5 times as much food in the old bag of the same size and price as the new bag. The caloric differences are 360 Kcal/cup compared to 370 Kcal/cup. Not a huge difference, but one worth noticing.

I'm sending this bag back, and it looks like I may need to find a new brand to feed to my dog.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a pup with a sensitive tummy, April 12, 2017

My golden retriever gets pancreatitis with a lot of the commercial foods and he is 11 so he gains weight very fast when he has too high of a calorie intake. For years i cooked chicken and rice for him and when i wnated to put him back on commercial food (because he wasn't retaining a good weight) i tried a few brands. He gets bad gas and stomach aches with others, but this one is perfect. The grain free is a huge plus and he is not having any trouble with his stomach on this food. The only thing is he is putting on weight again and i think that is due to his arthritis in the winter months so i am happy the snow has melted and he can start exercising a bit. He is a tough one-either too fat or skinny... so i have to watch the amount i give him.

I've ordered this food online many times. This time the food was discolored and obviously has gone bad. I tried to return, but was told it's not eligible for return. I can't feed spoiled dog food to my dogs, so a big waste of money and this food isn't cheap. I will never buy food item from Amazon again. Not happy :(
